February 2017 Update
We believe challenging and rewarding days are ahead for CMOTO in 2017. We will open on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 for the new season. We are expecting a busy time welcoming guests who will visit from all over the country as well as some from overseas.
Our faithful workers, design and art experts have been working on improving exhibits to make the museum tours even more interesting and effective. Our idea of “effective” is to make the spiritual message of the truthfulness and accuracy of the Bible and the gospel as influential as possible. This is our reason for being—to use this unique ministry as a foundation for encouraging and leading people into the truth of God’s Word.
During the Christmas and New Year season Linda and I went to Charleston, South Carolina to visit family. While there we toured Boone Hall, a former slave plantation that produced cotton and other basic foods. We were impressed with many of the massive tree trunks on the grounds.
It would be an impossibility to try and transplant such huge long-lived trees like the ones we saw. We noticed a water supply adjacent to some of the hugest trees which surely helped them to become established so securely. I thought of an illustration related to this: When we share the truths of the Bible to our visitors at CMOTO, especially young people, we want to see them become strong and established in the truth so they will not be influenced (transplanted) away from it. We want them to be spiritually strengthened and become living examples of 1 Peter 3:15 which says,
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.”
We desire to see the younger generation trusting in God by being spiritual trees “planted by the rivers of water” (Psalm 1:3) of the Holy Spirit, and able to bear fruit as dynamic witnesses for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This is an important part of our vision for this year’s ministry at CMOTO. Thank you for your prayers and support. God bless you.
